Bogoda bridge and the Buddhist temple is situated nearby at Hali-Ela in Badulla district. This bridge is constructed to cross the Loggal Oya. Unfortunately, the road to the location is very bad. It is difficult to reach without a car, most vehicles park and take a tuk-tuk for the last few kilometres. You can catch a bus then walk but you do have a long hike as it stops nowhere near the location.
The bridge has been built with an interlock system. The use of the memorable road is not said to be encouraged by the resident monks of the adjoining temple. The caretaker is local who has extensive & fascinating knowledge about the temple and the bridge.
It's a marvellous creation and it is very artistic. The craftsmanship of the bridge is unbelievable. Replica of the same bridge can be seen in Kadgannawa, just after the railway level crossing in the public works department road-side museum.
There is a tunnel starting just behind the temple and rumours said ending up in Dove temple. Well worth a visit.
