Diyaluma Falls is the 2nd biggest waterfall in Sri Lanka, approx 6 to10 km away from Koslanda in the Badulla District on Colombo to Badulla highway. Alternately take a bus from Haputale and ask the driver to drop you at the Diyaluma waterfall, they run every 30 minutes. You can view the falls from the road or make your way to the foot of the Diyaluma falls which is quite easy to reach by tuk-tuk or car as the road is in need of repair, especially towards the top.
To get to the top of the waterfall, you can go alone or ask a guide to take you there. You can find those guides on the bridge. Wear sensible hiking shoes if you attempt this walk. Take a dip in a natural pool at the very top or walk further for the 7 cascades all worth a visit for some awesome pictures. If taking a bus to remember the last one is around 18:30 it will take just over an hour to hike up, spend 20 - 30min at the top and 45min to get back down to give an approximation. If driving takes a torch with you, stay to see the elephants or arrive early to see them.
